Checklist: 5 reasons to update your resume
Even if you are not looking for a job right now, there are at least 5 good reasons to do so - https://www.evernote.com/shard/s442/client/snv?noteGuid=5a6ac486-4ad8-40fc-90d1-69de0632fff3¬eKey=469d82ac29afa056c52aec2d727ca6fd&sn=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.evernote.com%2Fshard%2Fs442%2Fsh%2F5a6ac486-4ad8-40fc-90d1-69de0632fff3%2F469d82ac29afa056c52aec2d727ca6fd&title=Wriring%2Ba%2Bresume.
1. You are not satisfied with the salary
How to determine whether you have high expectations or pay really little? Update the resume and put the amount that you would like to receive. If the market needs specialists of your level, you will understand this by invitation. This will be a serious reason to ask for an increase in salary!
2. You got new skills
If you have recently taken advanced training courses, learned a foreign language, obtained a license, mastered a new program or otherwise improved your professional value, do not forget to add this fact to your resume.
3. You were attacked by summer longing
Over the two years of the crisis, the situation on the labor market has changed, and the job search today looks different than in 2014. If you are not going to change work, although you are bored in your place, we suggest that you monitor the market: update your resume and find out if employers are interested in it today. For the experiment, summer is the best time: while everything is on vacation, searching for interesting positions is a little slower and calmer. If you are ready for decisive action, try to find work in another city: what if this is your chance?
4. You have completed a successful project
Or achieved results that you can be proud of. The larger and more visible the project, the more detailed it is to describe it: what is your contribution to the implementation, what working skills were involved, how the project influenced the development of the company, and so on. Adding details “in hot pursuit” will be easier than having difficulty recalling details in a year.
5. You were promoted
There are two options: create a new post with a new post or edit the old one, mentioning what career growth you had in this company. If the resume is already long, then the second option will help save space.
